A contact lens fit is an add on to your regular vision exam. We do a full health screening, determine your prescription for glasses, fit you for contact lenses that best fit your needs, and even train you if it's your first time. You'll receive a trial set of lenses to use for about a week while you determine if they're a right fit for you. All follow-ups are covered under your initial visit so don't hesitate to let's know if you need a change. Once you've determined you're comfortable in your lenses, we can finalize your prescription and you'll be free to order your supply.
Changes to your vision can start very small and gradually get worse to the point where you might not even notice. It's important to have regular eye exams to monitor those minute changes in your vision and also keep track of your ocular health. Annual exams can help us identify and treat emerging eye conditions and diseases so we can treat them properly and timely.
The BEST way to clean your glasses is with a lens spray and a microfiber cloth. You can also use dish soaps like Palmolive or Mrs. Meyers to clean your lenses but avoid Dawn soap as it can eat away at the coatings. Storing them in a cool environment is also important, coatings like Transitions or Anti-Reflectives can crinkle if exposed to high heat for prolonged periods of time.
To avoid possible infection, do not wear your contacts for longer than they're intended. Daily lenses should be discarded after each use and bi-weekly/monthly lenses should be stored in fresh solution each night. Sleeping in and over wearing your lenses increases your chances of infection by trapping bacteria underneath them and not allowing for proper oxygen flow to your eyes. Swimming in your lenses can cause chemical burns on your eyes by trapping chlorine underneath them. We offer replacement lenses if yours rips or tears and we also offer a complimentary set if you run out before your next exam.
